The Island peak (6189 m) is also, one of the popular peaks for the climbers in the Sagarmatha region which lays in Himalayan ranges of the eastern part of Nepal. Some group of British climbers who composed this peak name as Island peak in 1953.
It looks like an island in a sea of ice when viewed from Dingboche. Also, many people know this peak like Imja Tse. This island peak has been a popular choice of many climbers throughout the world.
First, the British expedition team climbed on the southwest summit of this Island peak in 1953, Charles Evans, Charles Wylie, Alfred Gregory, and Tenzing Norgay. However, the main was summit by Von Gunten and Hans Rudolf with unknown two Sherpas.
The journey to Island peak begins with the beautiful views of Gokyo, Khumbu, Thame even Imja Valley. Climbers have to fly from Kathmandu city to Lukla Airport before climbing to Island peak.
There are many scenic spots like Kalapathar, Gokyo Ri, and Chola. Apart from these views of Baruntse, Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Makalu, and Lhotse are the finest peaks for the observation.

Day 02: Kathmandu.

Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3441 meters), 5.30 hours.
Day 05: Namche Bazaar Acclimatization day.
Day 06: Trek to Tengboche Monastery (3860 meters, 5 hours.
Day 07: Trek to Dingboche (4350 meters, 5.30 hours.
Day 08: Trek to Chhukung (4710 meters) trek back to Dingboche, 4.30 hours.
Day 09: Chhukung to Island Peak Base Camp [5,200m] 3-4 hours.
Day 10: Island Peak Base Camp to Summit (6,189m) and back to Base Camp [5,600m] 12-13 hrs.
Day 11: Island Peak Base Camp to Pangboche [3,985 m] 5-6 hrs.
Day 12: Pangboche to Namche Bazaar: 4-5 Hrs.
Day 13: Namche to Lukla.
Day 14: Morning flight back to Kathmandu. 30 minutes.

Lading day in Kathmandu Airport 1400m:
On this arrival day, our staff will receive you with Nepali flower Malla at the exit door of the airport hall then you would move to a hotel with the same staff by private vehicle. After reaching a hotel, you could have relaxed or take a bath. In your leisure time, our guide will share with you about Island peak climbing and trekking.
Day 1 Kathmandu City:
Right after taking breakfast, all of us go for sightseeing within this city or valley. Out of many monasteries, our guide will take you to Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple) as you could see many mani walls and devotees. All people hike to the top of the mountain to visit this monastery. People could see the views of Kathmandu city from this monastery. Besides this one, a guide will take you to Pashupatinath temple which is a Hindu temple where you will see a lot of worshipers. This temple is unique in terms of designs. The world heritage places like Bhaktapur Darbar square, Patan Darbar and Kathmandu Durbar square will be your next destination on this same day. These palaces have very classic designs and represent old craft and designs. After visiting these places, our experienced guide would brief you about further trekking preparation and Island climbing.
Day 2 Flying to Lukla 2804m, then trek to Phakding 2610 m:
Soon after breakfast, all of us fly to Lukla, it takes 35 minutes to reach this place. After reaching Lukla, all of our trek to Phakding with the guidance of a guide. We will move down slightly by just crossing the Dudh Koshi River which connects a track to Namche Bazaar. After that, we will have an easy walk right after passing small Ghat 2550m and finally reach Phakding. We will stay in this place. It needs 3 hours of walk.
Day 3 Phakding via Namche Bazar 3441 m:
We will hike for nearly six hours to Namche Bazaar from Phading, all of us will have to cross Dudh Koshi even suspension bridges. Just after reaching to Sagarmatha National as you could see wonderful views from this place. You will have to hike for 5:30 hours just to reach Namche Bazaar which is the doorway to Mount Everest. There are hotels, shops, money exchanges, internet, cafes, and bakeries. Namche is the main village in this Everest region finally our resting will be in this Bazaar with the dinner.
Day 4 Namche Acclimatization Day:
This day resting beings in this place since it is important before hiking. Just after the resting, we will move to Syangboche Airport. You will see the stunning views of the Himalayas including sunset even sunrise and Khumbu peaks. Our night resting hails in Namche Bazaar.
Day 5 Hike to Tengboche Monastery 3860m:
After breakfast, you will hike by passing Dudh Koshi, when hiking you will see many peaks. We take 5 hours to Tengboche. You could get the chance of visiting Monastery. There are 20 feet of Buddha monastery. Displays of instruments and clothes really make the day very joyful and you can also get the chance of observing a prayer of Lama. The overnight kicks out in this place.
Day 6 Tengboche Monastery via Dingboche 4350 m:
