Island Peak Climbing (6173m.) also recognized as Imja Tse, climbing is demanding and technically challenging trek. It is the expansion of Lhotse Shar, one of the very popular for trekking track that can be accomplished crossing Everest Base Camp. All the way through Gokyo Valley, the walking trail will take us to the peak. The peak is referred as Island peak because it appears like an island when viewed from Dingboche. Being situated at the apex of Chhukung Glacier, Island peak is very demanding for climbing. The challenging geographical scenery between Lhotse and Mt. Amadablam makes it challenging experience to reach the summit.
We will begin our Island Peak treks with an impressive flight to the peak airfield of Lukla, from where we will trek to the Namche Bazaar, a lively Sherpa land before into the regions of the huge mountains. We walk around and climb a number of isolated high passes as well as peaks to mark the most beautiful mountain vistas. We will also see the sights the striking Himalayan valleys of Gokyo, Thame, Khumbu and Imja Valley. We will observe really memorable Himalayan vista from 6 different vantage spot like Chola, Gokyo Ri, Kalapathar, and Island Peak. After being properly acclimatized, we will go for Island peak climbing which will reward you with one of the finest panoramic peak views of Lhotse, Baruntse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Makalu etc.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1400m).
Day 02: Kathmandu.
Day 03: Fly to Lukla (2804 meters), trek to Phakding (2610 meters), 3 hours.
Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3441 meters), 5.30 hours.
Day 05: Namche Bazaar Acclimatization day.
Day 06: Trek to Tengboche Monastery (3860 meters, 5 hours.
Day 07: Trek to Dingboche (4350 meters, 5.30 hours.
Day 08: Trek to Chhukung (4710 meters) trek back to Dingboche, 4.30 hours.
Day 09: Chhukung to Island Peak Base Camp [5,200m] 3-4 hours.
Day 10: Island Peak Base Camp to Summit (6,189m) and back to Base Camp [5,600m] 12-13 hrs.
Day 11: Island Peak Base Camp to Pangboche [3,985 m] 5-6 hrs.
Day 12: Pangboche to Namche Bazaar: 4-5 Hrs.
Day 13: Namche to Lukla.
Day 14: Morning flight back to Kathmandu. 30 minutes.
Day 15: Departure.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1400m).
After onset to Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel by the representative of Gorakhakali Travel and Tours. You will be briefed about the plans trekking. You have a free afternoon in the hotel you can relax.

Day 02: Kathmandu.
After having breakfast, we have sightseeing around Kathmandu city.  You will visit Swayambhunath Stupa well-liked as ‘Monkey Temple’ and here we can see an eye-catching view of Kathmandu valley from the hillock.  Visiting Pashupatinath temple, renowned as Hindus most holy temple is an additional mark to walk around in Kathmandu. And, getting a glimpse of famous places for art and architecture recruited in UNESCO World Heritage List like Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Kathmandu Durbar Square, and Patan Durbar Square will be the important one. After accomplishing the sightseeing plan, our qualified and trained guide will brief you about the trek. Also, you will be prepared with all the essential equipment for trekking. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 03: Fly to Lukla (2804 meters), trek to Phakding (2610 meters), 3 hours.
We will transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu early in the morning today. With the 35 minutes picturesque flight we will land to Tenzing and Hillary Airport in Lukla lying at 2804m. Your guide will shortly brief you as soon as you arrive at the airport and we will begin our trek to Phakding at 2610m.  We will descend towards the Dudh Koshi River where we connect the key track to Namche Bazaar, situated just on top of Chaunrikharka (2713m). We will have an easy walk and after walking through the small community of Ghat (2550m), we will further have a short walk to reach Phakding. Overnight at guesthouse in Phakding.

Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3441 meters), 5.30 hours.
We will today trek for around 6 hours to reach Namche Bazaar from Phakding. We go on trekking alongside the Dudh Koshi, going across this magnificent river several times on thrilling suspension bridges loaded with prayer flags. After going
in the Sagarmatha National Park, the track climbs up letting us witness the spectacular views. Namche Bazaar recognized as the doorway to Everest includes many quality restaurants, lodges, hotels, shops, money exchanges, bakeries, internet cafes etc. Namche is one of the major villages all along the whole Everest trail. Overnight at guesthouse in Namche Bazaar.

Day 05: Namche Bazaar Acclimatization day.
We will rest for today with the intention of acclimatizing and adjusting to the air at higher elevation. We can also have a short trek and encounter with the traditional way of life of the Sherpa inhabitants. Today we trek up to the Syangboche Airport from where we can see gratifying views of the Himalayas with spectacular sunrise and sunset above the scene of Khumbu peaks. Overnight at guesthouse in Namche Bazaar.

Day 06: Trek to Tengboche Monastery (3860 meters, 5 hours.
The trek will move all along the speeding up Dudh Koshi with wonderful views of the peaks. We will move to an elevation of 3860 m today. After reaching Tengboche, we will observe the local monastery. Surrounded by the monastery are extremely ornate wall drapes, a 20-foot monument of Buddha, and the melodic instruments and fine clothes of the Lamas. We will also observe a prayer ceremony. Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 07: Trek to Dingboche (4350 meters, 5.30 hours.
From Tengboche, we will walk down to Debouche and go across another stirring suspension bridge above the Imja River, and mount to Pangboche surrounded by a lot of mani stones. Our climbing continues, which as a final point for today will take the picturesque traditional Sherpa community of Dingboche with its superb views of Island Peak, Lhotse, Ama Dablam etc. Overnight at guesthouse in Dingboche.

Day 08: Trek to Chhukung (4710 meters) trek back to Dingboche, 4.30 hours.
Today we will have another day for getting used to with the air at high altitude. We can optionally make a walk to Chhukung valley by way of the Imja River Valley to get a spectacular view of the close mountains, particularly Lhotse’s huge south wall, and then go back to Dingboche in the evening. Overnight at guesthouse in Dingboche.

Day 09: Chhukung to Island Peak Base Camp [5,200m] 3-4 hours.
The path from Chhukung today will lead you to fairly steep climbing south after that turning east to the major line of the valley. It after that winds all along or moves under the southern side of the moraine from the Lhotse Glacier. We carry on with short pleasant walking all along a streamside. The path to the Amphu Lapcha is located to the southeast. A zigzag route all the way through the Imja as well as Lhotse glacier moraines takes us to a wide valley nearby the Island peak. Overnight at Island Peak Base Camp.

Day 10: Island Peak Base Camp to Summit (6,189m) and back to Base Camp [5,600m] 12-13 hrs.
Today is the high point of our voyage. The path will take us beyond the base camp for some hundred meters prior to striking off the vertical hillside. When we climb the hill, we will perceive that the incline narrows and the trail enter a vertical rock canal. The way then follows an edge line, which takes us to an elating and uncovered traverse onto the muzzle of the peak glacier. We need to tie up with ropes for the glacier as it includes several crevasses. A steep snow incline leads us onto the peak ridge. After witnessing the summit views, we will descend all the way to Island Peak Base Camp. Overnight at the camp again.

Day 11 Island Peak Base Camp to Pangboche [3,985 m] 5-6 hrs.
Today is much easy to walk downward to the lower height. We will make way through the same path. We will pass through stunning Sherpa villages Shomare and Orsho. Upper Pangboche is supposed to be the oldest one in the Khumbu region. From here, we can also see Everest, Ama Dablam, the Kongde range to the south Kangtaiga to the east, and the Imjatse River flowing all the way through the wide lush valley itself. Overnight at the base camp again.

Day 12 Pangboche to Namche Bazaar: 4-5 Hrs.
From Pangboche we go back over our path down to the Imja River and up all the way through the woods to Tengboche. Then we will follow the hillside covered by rhododendron and juniper trees. After traversing the prayer flag decorated bridge above the Dudh Koshi River, track after that follows the Dudh Koshi ravine descending quickly via the pine forests. The trail finally reaches Sansa. After going across a Chorten, we get there at Namche Bazaar. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

Day 13: Namche to Lukla.
Finally, we go back to Lukla where the walk began, which will give the impression like a lifetime ago; having time to reflect on the walk as a group and the individual achievement of accomplishing the trek. Overnight at guesthouse in Lukla.

Day 14: Morning flight back to Kathmandu. 30 minutes.
With the last sight of the mountains you have lately visited from the 35-minute picturesque flight, we will return back to Kathmandu. Returning back to the capital, we will move to our hotel. We can do some shopping in Thamel or we also have options for going around Kathmandu for sightseeing which we have missed on the 2nd day of our trip. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 15: Departure.
Today you will head off from this wonderful Himalayan homeland, Nepal.  We look forward to meeting you again.
