Best Trekking Season in Nepal

 → Autumn (September To November)

Autumn season is considered the best time for trekking in Nepal, which offers superb weather and teasing mountain views. Temperatures are moderate, making it a good time for anyone of our trekking options. The skies are generally clear with outstanding views. Occasional short storms may dump snow at high altitudes. This is the peak season for trekking as mountain views are guaranteed so better book your flight in advance. This is also the season of festivities as Nepal celebrates the biggest Hindu festivals Dashain followed by Tihar.

→ Winter (December TO February)

This season is noted for occasional snowfall only at higher elevations, therefore it is a model for trekking at the lower height, normally below 3500m. However, you may have the chance to see the white head mountains. The morning and night are cold and the days are warm when sunny.

→ Spring (March TO May)

Spring season is one of the other best times for any trekking routes in Nepal, offering different varieties of wildflowers to blossom, especially the rhododendrons making the hillside above 3500m a haunting paradise during this spring. It is mildly warm at lower elevations and at the higher elevation, over 4000m, the Mountain Views are superb while the temperature is mildly warm.

→Summer (June TO August) monsoon
It is a raining season.Summer months continue up to mid-September making travel wet and warm. Is this time a blessing for the keen botanist or photographer as the higher valleys and meadows blossom with flowers and lush vegetation making this the perfect time to capture Nepal in all its beauty? It’s recommended to carry insect repellent when trekking during these summer months. Trekking in rain shadow parts are options for this time of year. It rains almost every day with occasional thunderstorms in the evening. The rain spreads the pleasantness around with lush green vegetation.

☞ Tea House / Lodge Trek:

Teahouse trekking is also known as lodge trekking. It is comparatively cheaper where meals and accommodation are provided. Here meal depends upon the menu of teahouse which is usually simple and which is basically consumed by the local people living there. Usually the teahouses in hilly and mountains region are reasonably comfortable and clean but exceptions are always there. This is a great way of connecting with local people and gets to know their culture and other activity. The standard of lodging may range from a hotel look alike to very rustic one. The Trek is guided by an English speaking local guide and all main baggage is carried by porters, yaks or donkeys.

☞ Camping / Tented Trekking:

Camping or Tent Trekking is the most common style of trekking all over the world and can be conducted almost anywhere in the country. Camping trekking is organized and supported by a team of guides, cooks, Sherpa and porters to accompany you. All the necessary requirements during trekking such as food fuel and other goods are carried by porters. The Cook will prepare food during the trekking. The trekkers only need to carry a small bag required for them during the day. The night, tents for dining and sleeping are set up. Other requirements such as mattress and sleeping bag are arranged by the staffs. A chief guide is employed to pre-arrange all the requirements of the entire expedition.  All land transportation, local permits, taxes, porter insurance, port dues and entrance fees to national parks or sites constituting an integral part of the trip are arranged.
