Lower Dolpo trekking is a special opportunity to make a trip the far-west area with less entrance fee. The complete striking trek to Lower Dolpo will, in fact, let you mark the outstanding cultural variety and fantastic experience in the Himalayan range. The Lower Dolpo Trek is designed for real adventurers desiring for a less trodden path experience. This distant region in western part of Nepal was opened for the foreign visitors only in 1990.

The area located to the north of the Dhaulagiri Range in the main shade of the Himalayas which is reflected in the stunning arid inclination of the peaks which come out as an everlasting captivating scene. You will be rewarded by the deepest peak lakes, the Phoksundo with dazzling greenish- blue color. From November to April Lower Dolpa are almost covered by snow so the people momentarily travel to below land to stay away from cold.

The trek passes all the way via Shey-Phoksundo National Park with astonishing mountain views, yak caravans, Buddhist monasteries and the like. The Lower Dolpo trek designed by G.K. Majestic Trek Pvt.Ltd takes you through a wooded area; pass all the way through rock-strewn canyons in the isolated flat landscape near the boundary with Tibet and above all experience the high elevated land and Phoksundo with the chilly air of the glaciers of Kanjiroba.

Day 18: Your Departure
Day 01:  Arrival day in Kathmandu (1300m)
After onset to Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel by the representative of Gorakhakali Travel and Tours. You will be briefed about the plans trekking. You have a free afternoon in the hotel you can relax.

Day 02: Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing
After having breakfast, we have sightseeing around Kathmandu city.  You will visit Swayambhunath Stupa well-liked as ‘Monkey Temple’ and here we can see an eye-catching view of Kathmandu valley from the hillock.  Visiting Pashupatinath temple, renowned as Hindus most holy temple is an additional mark to walk around in Kathmandu. And, getting a glimpse of famous places for art and architecture recruited in UNESCO World Heritage List like Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Kathmandu Durbar Square, and Patan Durbar Square will be an important one. After accomplishing the sightseeing plan, our qualified and trained guide will brief you about the trek. Also, you will be prepared with all the essential equipment for trekking. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 03:  Fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj
From Kathmandu, we will take a flight and move to Nepalgunj located in the far west of Nepal which is significant as it is going transversely above the peaks of Nepal, like- Langtang, Manaslu, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri etc. Nepalgunj is close to the Indian boundary, and quite warm comparing with Kathmandu. Overnight in Nepalgunj.

Day 04:  Fly from Nepalgunj to Jhupal (Dolpo)(2,320m) and trek to Dunai (2850m)
Today, from Nepalgunj we take a morning flight to Jhupal. The 45minutes journey over the high mountains brings you at Jhupal over the Himalayan foothills, with sights of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri peaks to the north. Our first-day exploration begins through the terraced fields of the Bheri River and the narrow gorge taking 2-3 hours to camp at Dunai. Tonight in Dunai.

Day 05:  Trek to Tarakot (2,543m)
Today, from Dunai we will walk along the southern bank of the river moving upstream on a fine trail. You will walk through deep ravines, isolated villages, and hanging bridges. A magnificent gorge having pine trees will be chosen and then walk on the path built around seven meters on top of the river. The vivid terraced pasture of Tarakot rewards us. Tarakot is an aged fortress city built by the local inhabitants as Dzong or castle. Overnight in Tarakot

Day 06:  Trek to Laini (3,160m)
After breakfast, we go away from Tarakot and keep on following the Tarap Chu River and go across the bridge and cross the same river once more. The well-known Sandul Gompa is located further east from Tarakot and at the junction of Barbung River and Tarup Chu River. The trail leads all the way through the rural villages and farm terraces.  After a few uneven spots, finally go down to arrive at our camp at Laini.

Day 07:  Trek to Nawarpani (3,545m)
After having breakfast we will walk up to the ravine of the Tarap River, escalating high above on a path built out from vertical slopes. The stroll is inspiring as the valley turns out to be a narrow ravine. We will descend to Chyugur River. We will make way across stone slabs fitted on logs in amid the walls which are similar to a bridge.  We will reach Nawarpani which will be the final point for today.

Day 08:  Trek to Do Tarap (4,090m)
We will walk ahead from Nawarpani with a stable way up leading us at Kamattarka at the meeting of the Lang Khola and Tarap Chu stream pouring from the east. After some hours of walk, we will leave the narrow ravine, from this time the trail leads just on top of tree lines for juniper as well as wild rose. After walking for 3 hours, we will arrive at the village of Dho Tarap enclosed by an uneven stone wall. Tarap is also inhabited by a small number of Tibetans and generally Magars who have resided here for several generations.  Overnight in Do Tarap.

Day 09:  Rest Day at Do Tarap for acclimatization
Today we will have a rest day in Do Tarap for gradual adjustment in the high altitude. On the other hand, you can go around monasteries and take pleasure from the incredible views.  We will notice the Buddhist Gompa close to the camp whereas the Bon Gompa (pre-Buddhist) is located at about half an hour's walk. Overnight in Do
tarap.

Day 10:  Trek to Numa La Base Camp (4440m)
After a splendid time at Do Tarap, our tour continues to upper Tarap valley, the stroll follows in this plain valley with a bit of lush green grasses on both parts of the river. The trek will then lead us to the Tarap chu. After few hours walk, we will reach
at the village of Tokyu, which holds a monastery of the Chiba sect. After the trip, our walk continues more up through the rough path for almost more than three hours to get to our overnight camp under the Numa-la.

Day 11:  Cross Numa La (5,190m) and camp at Pelung Tang (4465m)
Today, we will ascend takes us to the pass and the sight is surely eye-catching. Dhaulagiri I, the rising and falling Tibetan hills, as well as the Kanjiroba Himal located to the west, is in the same way striking. With breathtaking bounded panorama around, we go up the small crest from the left of the pass. After getting to the apex of Numa
La we will move down to camp at Pelung Tang. 

Day 12:  Cross Baga La [5,070m) and camp Dajok Tang (4,080m)
After breakfast, we will trek starts with a perpendicular way up to reach the r top of Baga-la lying at 5,070m, which offers unbelievable views of the adjacent landscapes and of the far-off snow-topped peak range of Kanjirowa Himal. Experiencing the superb moment at the pass, roughly three hours of descending will takes us to the Dajok Tang for overnight.

Day 13:  Trek to Ringmo (3,600m)
We will walk ahead keeping the river to the left part and we will move downward for around one hour to a military camp (3150m) located at the junction of the Phoksundo and Pungmo Rivers. We will walk left directly and follow a magnificent path near the Phoksundo River to a verdant clearing. Again, we will move up to Ringmo which is very meaningful. Overnight in Ringmo.

Day 14:  Rest Day at Ringmo for a hike to Phoksundo Lake
We will have another rest day at Ringmo and exploration day.  Phoksundo Lake which mesmerizes you with the beautiful scenery will make your day enjoyable. Also, you will have a chance to make a trip the close by Tibetan Buddhist monastery. Overnight in Ringmo.

Day 15:  Trek to Shyanta (2520m)
Today, we will trek down to Chepka. From Chepka the path follows the huge hanging rock. We will see many significant medicinal minerals which are supposed to heal almost everything in this spot. The way then passes via the villages, prior to climbing to
Shyanta. Overnight here.

Day 16:  Trek to Jhupal
Our walk will continue along the river to reach a tea shop beside the trail which denoted the beginning of the way up to the Juphal runway. The path makes way up steadily, passing all the way through the village of Juphal. Overnight in Juphal.

Day 17:  Fly to Kathmandu via Nepalgunj
We have the air travel to Nepalgunj. Returning back to the capital, we will move to our hotel. We can do some shopping in Thamel or we also have options for going around Kathmandu for sightseeing which we have missed on the 2nd day of our trip. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 18: Your Departure
