Everest High Pass and Island Peak treks, one of the strenuous but picturesque trekking will let you walk through constantly changing vistas of gigantic peaks. This adventurous attempt of trekking, as well as peak climbing, fulfills the reverse of every inexperienced climber and serious mountaineers, who are interested in enjoying the thrill of adventure and long to extend their experience of the peak climbing. This demanding trip necessitates physical fitness, strength and some previous trekking experience too.

We will begin our Everest High Pass and Island Peak treks with an impressive flight to the peak airfield of Lukla, from where we will trek to the Namche Bazaar, a lively Sherpa land before into the regions of the huge mountains. We walk around and climb a number of isolated high passes as well as peaks to mark the most beautiful mountain vistas. We will also see the sights the striking Himalayan valleys of Gokyo, Thame, Khumbu and Imja Valley. We will observe really memorable Himalayan vista from 6 different vantage spot like Chola, Gokyo Ri, Kalapathar, and Island Peak. After being properly acclimatized, we will go for Island peak climbing which will reward you with one of the finest panoramic peak views of Lhotse, Baruntse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Makalu etc.

Outline Itinerary

Day 01- Arrival in Kathmandu (1400m)
Day 02- Fly to Lukla (2804 meters), trek to Phakding (2610 meters), 3 hours.
Day 03- Trek to Namche Bazaar (3441 meters), 5.30 hours.
Day 04- Namche Bazaar Acclimatization day.
Day 05- Trek to Tengboche Monastery (3860 meters, 5 hours.
Day 06- Trek to Dingboche (4350 meters, 5.30 hours.
Day 07- Trek to Chhukung (4710 meters) trek back to Dingboche, 4.30 hours.
Day 08- Trek to Lobuche (4910 meters), 5 hours.
Day 09- Trek to Everest Base Camp (5365 meters) then back to Gorak Shep (5180 meters), 8 hours.
Day 10- Hike up to Kalapatthar (5555 meters) early in the morning and trek down to Pheriche (4200 meters), 7 hours.
Day 11: Dzongla to Thangna (4650 m.), Over the Cho La Pass ( 5368m)
Day 12: Thangna to Gokyo (4750m.)
Day 13: Rest day at Gokyo
Day 14: Climb Gokyo Ri (5483m.) and Trek to Machhermo (4410m.)>
Day 15: Machhermo to Namche Bazaar (3440 m.)
Day 16: Namche to Lukla
Day 17: Morning flight back to Kathmandu. 30 minutes.
Day 18: Departure.
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1400m)
After onset to Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel by the representative of Gorakhkali Travel and Tours. You will be briefed about the plans trekking. You have a free afternoon in the hotel you can relax.

Day 02: Fly to Lukla (2804 meters), trek to Phakding (2610 meters), 3 hours.
We will transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu early in the morning today. With the 35 minutes picturesque flight we will land to Tenzing and Hillary Airport in Lukla lying at 2804m. Your guide will shortly brief you as soon as you arrive at the airport and we will begin our trek to Phakding at 2610m.  We will descend towards the Dudh Koshi River where we connect the key track to Namche Bazaar, situated just on top of Chaunrikharka (2713m). We will have an easy walk and after walking through the small community of Ghat (2550m), we will further have a short walk to reach Phakding. Overnight at guesthouse in Phakding.

Day 03: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3441 meters), 5.30 hours.
We will today trek for around 6 hours to reach Namche Bazaar from Phakding. We go on trekking alongside the Dudh Koshi, going across this magnificent river several times on thrilling suspension bridges loaded with prayer flags. After going to the Sagarmatha National Park, the track climbs up letting us witness the spectacular views. Namche Bazaar recognized as the doorway to Everest includes many quality restaurants, lodges, hotels, shops, money exchanges, bakeries, internet cafes etc. Namche is one of the major villages all along the whole Everest trail. Overnight at guesthouse in Namche Bazaar.

Day 04: Namche Bazaar Acclimatization day.
We will rest for today with the intention of acclimatizing and adjusting to the air at higher elevation. We can also have a short trek and encounter with the traditional way of life of the Sherpa inhabitants. Today we trek up to the Syangboche Airport from where we can see gratifying views of the Himalayas with spectacular sunrise and sunset above the scene of Khumbu peaks. Overnight at guesthouse in Namche Bazaar.

Day 05: Trek to Tengboche Monastery (3860 meters, 5 hours.
The trek will move all along the speeding up Dudh Koshi with wonderful views of the peaks. We will move to an elevation of 3860 m today. After reaching Tengboche, we will observe the local monastery. Surrounded by the monastery are extremely ornate wall drapes, a 20-foot monument of Buddha, and the melodic instruments and fine clothes of the Lamas. We will also observe a prayer ceremony. Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 06: Trek to Dingboche (4350 meters, 5.30 hours.
From Tengboche, we will walk down to Dingboche and go across another stirring suspension bridge above the Imja River, and mount to Pangboche surrounded by a lot of mani stones. Our climbing continues, which as a final point for today will take the picturesque traditional Sherpa community of Dingboche with its superb views of Island Peak, Lhotse, Ama Dablam etc. Overnight at guesthouse in Dingboche.

Day 07: Trek to Chhukung (4710 meters) trek back to Dingboche, 4.30 hours.
Today we will have another day for getting used to with the high altitude. We can optionally make a walk to Chhukung valley by way of the Imja River Valley to get a spectacular view of the close mountains, particularly Lhotse’s huge south wall, and then go back to Dingboche in the evening. Overnight at guesthouse in Dingboche.

Day 08: Trek to Lobuche (4910 meters), 5 hours.
Today, our path continues all along the side moraine of the Khumbu Glacier and goes by stone memorials for mountaineers who have given up their life on close by summits. We go on climbing as we are moving to the elevation of 4910 m at Lobuche which includes only a few huts at the base of giant Lobuche Mountain. We might have breathing problems today because of the height of sea level. Overnight at guesthouse in Lobuche.

Day 09: Trek to Everest Base Camp (5365 meters) then back to Gorak Shep (5180 meters), 8 hours.
This is one more difficult day walk all along the Khumbu Glacier and walk up to Everest Base Camp at 5365 m, the nearby you can reach to Mt. Everest without mountain climbing equipment. The sight of the Khumbu Icefall from Base Camp is wonderful. We will return back to Gorak Shep. Overnight at guesthouse in Gorakshep.

Day 10: Hike up to Kalapatthar (5555 meters) early in the morning and trek down to Pheriche (4200 meters), 7 hours.
Hiking to Kala Patthar is the most easier than the done experience yet gratifying day of the trek.  We will climb up to Mt. Kala Patthar, a small crest at 5555meters. The climb is demanding but the hiker gets the most glorious mountain landscape: Everest, the highest peak on the earth at 8848 m, towers straight to the front and on all sides appear the other massive- Nuptse, Chagatse, Pumori, Lhotse and innumerable others. We make a speedy drop to Gorak Shep, a tiny village at 5180 m then trek downward to Pheriche. Overnight at guesthouse in Pheriche.

Day 10: Hike up to Kalapattar (5545 meters) and trek back to Dzongla (4620m.)
Hiking to Kala Patthar is the most easier than the done experience yet gratifying day of the trek.  We will climb up to Mt. Kala Patthar, a small crest at 5555meters. The climb is demanding but the hiker gets the most glorious mountain landscape: Everest, the highest peak on the earth at 8848 m, towers straight to the front and on all sides appear the other massive- Nuptse, Chagatse, Pumori, Lhotse and innumerable others. As a final point for today, we will trek to Dzongla. Overnight at guesthouse in Dzongla.

Day 11: Dzongla to Thangna (4650 m.), Over the Cho La Pass ( 5368m)
Today, we climb steeply on a slender trail passing big boulders and giant rocks. We will see a number of cairns on the route to the snowy region and the angle relieves off and we quickly reach the apex of the pass (5420m), where the sights are stunning including Baruntse (7220m), Ama Dablam, etc. Then, the drop from the pass is vertical and care should be taken as we go after the narrow rock-strewn trail downward to the Nymagawa Valley. Then walking further all the way on a trouble-free track to the huts and tea houses at Thangna. Overnight in Thangna.

Day 12: Thangna to Gokyo (4750m.)
We head off to the Ngozumpa Glacier where the views are amazing as we enjoy diverse views of the Gokyo Valley, Cho Oyu and neighboring mountains which border Tibet appear to the right. The trail after that reaches to the second Lake of Gokyo. From here it takes an additional 45 minutes to arrive at the settlement of Gokyo. Overnight in Gokyo.

Day 13: Rest day at Gokyo
Optionally, to witness the morning views at Gokyo Ri, we will ascend Gokyo Peak (5360m) or you can just walk up the Gokyo Valley to take pleasure from the further wonderful scenery. Overnight in Gokyo.

Day 14: Climb Gokyo Ri (5483m.) and Trek to Machhermo (4410m.)
Gokyo Ri looms on top of the village on the northern boundary of the Gokyo lake as we follow a vertical path up the hillside. As you go up, the peaks of Everest, Makalu, Lhotse etc. slowly come into view. Gokyo Ri is one of the best viewpoints in the Everest region.After having our lunch, we will have a short walk to the community of Machhermo where we will see yak pastures and not many human settlements. From here we can spot an outstanding view of Tawache. Overnight in Machhermo.

Day 15: Machhermo to Namche Bazaar (3440 m.)
We will walk downhill to Phortse Tenga passing through the forest enclosed by rhododendron, pine, local incense etc. Then, the trails go up steeply until you get to Monglo. The trail now descends tenderly up to Khumjung. To get to Namche you go behind flat and after that downward to Namche. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

Day 16: Namche to Lukla
Finally, we go back to Lukla where the walk began, which will give the impression like a lifetime ago; having time to reflect on the walk as a group and the individual achievement of accomplishing the trek. Overnight at guesthouse in Lukla.

Day 17: Morning flight back to Kathmandu. 30 minutes.
With the last sight of the mountains you have lately visited from the 35-minute picturesque flight, we will return back to Kathmandu. Returning back to the capital, we will move to our hotel. We can do some shopping in Thamel or we also have options for going around Kathmandu for sightseeing which we have missed on the 2nd day of our trip. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 18: Departure.
Today you will head off from this wonderful Himalayan homeland, Nepal.  We look forward to meeting you again.
